Welcome to Blue Springs Jiu-jitsu!

   Started in 1992 by Wayne Marble, Blue Springs Jiu-jitsu is a progressive martial arts school that focuses on education and the development of its students abilities. Our mission at Blue Springs Jiu-jitsu is to develop individuals confidence, self esteem, and character through the practice of martial arts.

We specialize in the arts of Jiu-jitsu, Judo and Kickboxing. Our students learn from highly qualified black belt instructors with many years of experience. We work with children and adults with programs suited for the beginner as well as the experienced Martial Artist.

For those interested in competitions we train and prepare students for Mixed Martial Arts, Judo, Kickboxing, and Grappling tournaments.

Renato Tavares Seminar April 28, 2012!

Renato Tavares Seminar: Another Success

June 25th was yet another big day for BSJJ with Master Renato Tavares coming back into town to share is high speed and effective techniques in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu!

A major benefit of being an affiliate of the Renato Tavares Association is that BSJJ gets to be host to not only Master Tavares, but also other association Black Belts in BJJ.

Its always a packed house when Renato comes to town.  Hours are spent soaking up world class technique that will guide the teaching curriculum for weeks to come, honing the skills that Renato faithfully passes on to us!

Renato Tavares leads our BJJ association and is recognized world-wide as a leader in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu instruction and competition.

BSJJ Competes @ Judo Nationals

Ty Jenkins placed 3rd today at the Jr US Open Judo Championships in Ft Lauderdale!  There were about 600 competitors and close to 30 countries represented at this event!  A congratulations to all of Blue Springs Jiujitsu competitors who competed.  They all worked really hard to prepare for this event.  This includes Ty Jenkins, Hunter Jenkins, Austin Haynes, and Tryston Hernandez.  Great job guys!

New Children's Schedule

In order to facilitate the growth in our kid's BJJ and Judo program a new class schedule is now available.  Kid's of different skill and experience levels will have different opportunities to sharpen their skills and learn alongside others at a similar level.  The new schedule is:

Tuesday 6-7p.m. Children's class.  This is for every skill level for kids older than preschool and will focus on Judo.

Wednesday 5:30-6:30 Youth Competition Team.  This is for children who have more experience and will focus on Brazilian Jiujitsu.

Wednesday 6:30-7:30 Beginner Youth.  This class focuses on the basics of BJJ and Judo.

Thursday 5:30-6:30 Youth Competition Team.  This is for children who have more experience and will focus on Judo.

Saturday 10:00-10:45 Preschool class. This class covers the basics and incorporates physically active games.

Saturday 11:00-12:30 Children's class.  This is a BJJ class for everyone in the children's program post-preschool.

Texas Hold'em Tournament June 25th!

BSJJ will be hosting a Texas Hold'em tournament the evening of the Renato Tavares seminar to benefit the youth competition team of the school.  Check out our Facebook Invite for more details...

This Texas Hold'em tournament is a benefit raising money for our Jr. Competition Judo Team to go to Florida and compete in the Jr. US Open Judo Championships! Please come in and support our team and have a great time!!! We will also have special guests at the event. World known Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Champion Renato Tavares will be there as well as local MMA Pro Aaron Derrow!!!
Tickets are $25. Call Blue Springs Jiu-Jitsu at (816) 224-2822 for tickets. The prizes will be: 1st place $200; 2nd place $100; and 3rd place $50. We will also have several raffles.
