Wayne Marble
Mr. Marble holds the rank of 4th degree Black Belt in Shingitai Jujitsu and a Blue Belt in Brazilian Jiu-jitsu under Renato Tavares. He is one of only about 12 people in the United States to hold this rank in Shingitai Jujitsu. He also holds the rank of 4th degree Black Belt in Judo as well as 3rd degree Black Belt in Gung Fu. Wayne has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Spanish, a Masters of Arts degree in Curriculum and Instruction, and a Ed. Specialist degree in educational administration. He is a Doctoral candidate at UMKC expecting to complete this degree in 2011. In addition to his work in martial arts, he teaches Spanish at Lee's Summit West High School. Wayne is a certified public school teacher in the state of Missouri.
Chris Handy
Mr. Handy holds the rank of 1st degree Black Belt in Shingitai Jujitsu as well as Brown Belts in Judo and Gung Fu. He has also earned his Purple belt from Renato Tavares, a 3rd degree black belt who trained under the late Carlson Gracie Sr. His linage goes thru both Carlson and Helio Gracie. Renato has more then 30 years of Jiu-Jitsu experience and is an active member of American Top Team. Mr. Handy also has trained in Boxing under Esteban Leon and Muay Thai Kickboxing under K-1 fighter Jeff Ford. At Blue Springs Jujitsu he teaches No Gi Jujitsu classes, MMA, and Kickboxing. He is an MMA fighter and is in charge of setting up the MMA matches for our students who wish to test their skills in these types of competitions.
Will Barry
Will currently holds the rank of Brown Belt in Shingitai Jujitsu. He started wrestling in 1988 in Warrensburg Little League, and continued wrestling for Hall of Fame coach Jim Hargrave from 1991-1994 winning a conference championship and qualifying for the state tournament twice. Will was a member of Team Missouri which competed at the Junior National Freestyle and Greco Roman Championships. In 1994 he joined and competed for Head Coach Robin Ersland on the CMSU Mules Wrestling team earning 3 Varsity Letters. Upon Graduating Will coached varsity wrestling at Warrensburg High in 1999. He enjoys passing on what he has learned from the many coaches over the years of wrestling to his students at Blue Springs Jujitsu.
Aaron Derrow
Aaron is a top local pro MMA fighter with a 10-2 pro record. The recent winner over 10 time UFC vet Rich Clementi, Aaron is on the road to a great career in the MMA world. We feel fortunate to have Aaron teaching our MMA class at BSJJ. He is a submission specialist with great hands and kicks.
Vince Carrillo
Vince Carrillo holds the rank of Black Belt in Tang Soo Do as well as Blue Belt in Shingitai Jujitsu and Judo.
Anthony Melkowski
Mr. Melkowski holds the rank of 1st degree black belt in Missouri Jun Fan Gung Fu. Mr. Melkowski has extensive training in the military and is currently in law enforcement. He has an associate of science degree in office management and a BA degree in criminal justice. He has been a member of Blue Springs Jiu-Jitsu for approximately 18 years. He teaches kickboxing and Missouri Jun Fan Gung Fu at Blue Springs Jiu-Jitsu.
